Screen Size

We recommend your screen resolution is set to 800 by 600 or better.  Otherwise you will have to scroll to see all the information.

Internet Explorer MAXIMISE

Microsoft Internet Explorer (provided on this CD-ROM) provides a neat feature.  By pressing F11 at the top of your keyboard you can make the browser run full-screen.

NetScape Toolbars

If you are having problems with the toolbars taking up too much space, you can temporarily hide them by going into the options menu and unticking the 'show toolbar' and 'show location' options.

Using the Back button

When you want to go back to a previous page use the 'Back' button on your web browser.  You will find this very useful.  It is normally a left arrow in the top left of your screen.

You can try pressing it now to go back to the title screen.

Installing onto the Hard Drive

The sound and video playback may be better and faster (especially on older machines) if the contents of the Gallipoli directory on the CDROM  are copied to a folder on the hard drive (i.e. c:\Gallipoli).

To do this :
Navigate to the CDROM in either My Computer or Windows Explorer.

Select the Gallipoli directory on the CDROM , right click on it, select copy from the pop up menu.  

Navigate to a suitable hard drive (e.g. c:\) right click and click on paste.

It should show files being copied and then you should have a directory called Gallipoli on your hard drive. Go into it and double click on the file called index.htm, this will start your web browser and show the contents.
